Rengar was known as one of the most skilled and ruthless hunters in his country. His technique and prowess made even the toughest of monsters and fiercest of Vastaya seem like common prey. Always seeking the thrill of the hunt, he sought out new challenges to overcome with each and every passing day. His undeterred moxie would prove to be his downfall to reshaping his fate, as a Vastaya appearing in the form of a white lion took him on a hunt he would never forget.

The creature giant in size yet regal in appearance was something Rengar had never seen the likes of in his time. Truly, worthy prey had fallen into his sights and he would be relentless in pursuing such a prized hunt. The beast led Rengar through a cave, which Rengar had assumed to be the lair the creature would launch their attack in. Every corner he turned in the cave, the beast's gaze pierced the very body of Rengar. It was if the beast was taunting Rengar, merely looking down upon him from every vantage point it took rather than strike Rengar down with its advantageous positioning. The hunter slashed away, but to his confusion, only gashes from his blades would remain on the walls the beast appeared by. As he pursued deeper and deeper into the cave, his body became more tense and heated from every slash he made at the beast, angered more and more when the sight of slayed prey would not be found in the wake of his blades. His body suddenly began to ache and burn from within, causing Rengar to fall to the ground. As if fate had played a cruel trick on him, within the reflection of the waters beneath him, he saw his very form shifting into the beast he so relentlessly pursued into the cave. Fur spreading across his chest, his face pushing forward into a new shape and his hands taking on a more primal, clawed form. In a bizarre turn of events, Rengar had shifted into the Vastaya he had been relentlessly pursuing.

Rengar's new form only made him a more vicious hunter than he was before, but in a cruel twist of fate, the hunter has now become the prey his own clan of Vastaya Hunters.
